Flashpoint: 10 Major New Details You Need To Know About The Flash Movie
4. Time-Travel And A Whole New DCEU
As you might expect with a Flashpoint adaptation, the movie is going to feature time-travel as Barry Allen decides to race back to save his mother's life. In Justice League, it was revealed that his father was in prison for murdering her, though the hero was clearly determined to prove Henry's innocence. After mastering time-travel in the Snyder Cut, it seems he decides the best way to do that is altering history.
Something like that doesn't come without a cost, though, and when Barry returns to the present day, the world has been drastically changed. That's why there's a new Batman, though it will be interesting seeing how the movie explains why Nora Allen not dying would change so much of the DC Extended Universe (without getting too bogged down in the complications of time-travel).
It was, of course, the Reverse-Flash who murdered Barry's mother, so he's bound to be the movie's lead villain, and by the time all is said and done, the DCEU will have been rebooted (to an extent), with a new continuity. Regardless of how successful the Snyder Cut of Justice League is on HBO Max, expect that adventure to be wiped from history so this shared world can receive a much-needed fresh start.
