6. “Need For Speed” - A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child

Dan is another Elm Street transplant, athletic, honest, and the jock hottie, making him popular amongst Springwood High teens. He makes friends with some local Elm Street kids, who catch him up on the town’s bloody history. Though he has his doubts about the Freddy folklore, he is open-minded enough to believe his friends are being terrorized in their sleep, which makes Dan’s death out of the norm for Freddy.

Dan’s death is unique because he is caught in a nightmare while being awake. Dan receives a frantic call from Alice, who is also stuck in a nightmare while awake. While Dan is rushing to her side, Freddy appears in the passenger seat of his truck and terrorizes him until the truck suddenly stops and Dan is sent flying out of the car.

Unable to get back into the truck, Dan opts to “borrow” a nearby motorcycle. As he is riding to Alice’s aid, the motorcycle starts morphing into Freddy. Freddy starts trapping him to the bike by stabbing him with wires, electrocuting him, and eventually turning him into skeletal cyborg. Suddenly Dan is thrown back into reality and has a head on collision with another car, dying instantly.
