After years of waiting the time has finally come; Disney has graced us all with a first look at the long-awaited follow-up to their gargantuan mega-hit with the first trailer for Frozen II.

Believe it or not, it's been six years since the original film hit theatres, despite the fact that children everywhere have still yet to stop singing Let It Go. So not only did this trailer carry with it a truckload of anticipation and expectations from fans of all ages, but it also had the extra burden of having to win fans who had grown sick and tired of the property over the last few years back over.

And if we're being honest, this trailer does that and more. It is easily the best trailers for a Disney animated film in years and does a stellar job of selling a brand new style and tone for the franchise while also teasing the infinite possibilities of directions this thing could go in.

Clocking in at just under two minutes, the trailer does offer up some incredibly tantalizing revelations and hints about where the sequel might be headed...

8. Elsa's Power Struggle

The first half of the trailer is dedicated to a solitary sequence that sees Elsa attempting to overcome the crashing waves and rocky terrain of the ocean with her powers.

And let's be frank; this sequence is incredible. The minute of this that is shown in the trailer is more compelling than anything in the entirety of the first film. From the way it externalizes Elsa's internal struggles with her powers, to the stunningly vivid animation, to the ebb and flow of the conflict between Elsa's powers and the raging sea, to the way it probes even deeper as she's literally attempting to stop the unstoppable force of nature (the ocean) that killed her parents in the first film.

It is flat-out phenomenal storytelling in every way and is enticing in so many ways. Not only does it tease Elsa's growing powers, it also teases a darker, bolder, and more confident direction for the sequel.
