Ghostbusters: Every Cameo Ranked From Worst To Best
2. Sigourney Weaver
Role: Rebecca Gorin
Her character too might be a betrayal of her former role as Dana in the originals, but the idea of Rebecca Gorin as a similarly kooky mentor for Kate McKinnon's Holtzmann is actually pretty funny. She turns up in the very final seconds of the film, running her eye over the 'Busters' equipment and advising on the developments they need to add, despite appearing to be pretty unstable.
There is almost certainly potential there for her to return in the sequel if Sony want to give her another contract (though the others might be a little miffed that she's the only cameo who graduates to a more substantial role). I'd certainly watch her in a better sequel, that's for sure, as she adds to the backstory of Holtzmann, who has quickly become a lot of new fans' favourite characters in the film.
Then maybe we could see an actual confirmation IN THE FILM that Holtzmann is gay, rather than the weird revelation coming from the director outside of it. That was a big opportunity that he seems to have missed simply for the sake of it.
