Golden Globes 2020: 10 Ups & 6 Downs
3. Tom Hanks' Moving Cecil B. Demille Award Speech
Tom Hanks was on hand to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award, the honorary Golden Globe given to an artist who has made invaluable contributions to the film industry over their career, and it's tough to imagine a more deserving recipient.
After a wonderful introduction by Charlize Theron - who Hanks directed in his 1996 directorial debut That Thing You Do! - a terrific highlight reel showcased his literally dozens of iconic roles, before the man himself finally took to the stage.
As gracious as ever even while battling a cold, Hanks was clearly incredibly moved by the recognition, and paid tribute to his family for supporting him throughout his storied career.
If nothing else, it provided further proof that Hanks is quite probably the nicest guy in Hollywood.
