Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2: 25 WTF Moments

25. 1980?

The opening prologue sees us introduced to Laura Haddock's Meredith Quill as she and Ego enjoy a romantic tryst and he shows her one of his seed pods. It's a nice little sequence, particularly as we get to see more of Marvel's excellent de-ageing technology, but it has a problem.

The date makes no sense. It's apparently set in 1980, and while she may be pregnant, Meredith isn't showing enough for you to tell. So the fact that Peter Quill was born on February 4th, 1980 becomes something of a problem. Did she have a weird super-quick gestation of less than a month? And if so, wouldn't that have been pretty key information to drop here?
