1. The Ending Is Pretty Disappointing

Though Halloween's third act is a stomach-knotting riot for the most part, the very end of the movie sadly ends up settling back into fairly cynical and unsatisfying territory as is characteristic for the franchise.

It's especially frustrating as the film clearly steers close to a conclusion which would've been enormously gratifying, especially for long-time fans of the franchise, but Hollywood being what it is, that's just not the case.

It's no spoiler to say that Halloween's projected box office success will ensure a sequel hits screens within the next few years - but please don't call it Halloween II - yet something far ballsier and much more interesting was possible with just a few tweaks.

So, the new Halloween isn't a home-run by any means, but it is an entertaining slasher sequel for the most part. Here's everything it gets right...
