7. Firenze
The centaurs only make occasional appearances throughout the Harry Potter series. Given they live in the Dark Forest, most students never come into contact with them.
Firenze is the centaur Harry encounters the most during his adventures. Their first meeting occurs in The Philosopher’s Stone, when Firenze saves Harry from the Dark Lord, and it’s immediately clear this young centaur is wise beyond his years. And, against the wishes of his elders, Firenze is perfectly willing to aid humans.
In The Order of the Phoenix, Firenze is kicked out of the forest by the other centaurs when he agrees to teach Divination. His teaching methods are bizarre, and that’s putting it mildly - yet it’s still interesting to see how centaurs use nature to gain an insight into the future.
Firenze is one of those characters you want to know more about because every second he spends with Harry never fails to be intriguing.
