How 13 MCU Actors Reacted The First Time They Saw Their Costumes

1. Anthony Mackie (Captain America)

Anthony Mackie was known as The Falcon for most of his MCU tenure, a character whose costume was more functional than showy - especially when compared to some of the eccentric outfits worn by his superhero peers.

But all of that changed during the finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where Sam Wilson embraced his deserved role as the new Captain America.

His outfit here is the most "comic-book-y" look that Captain America has had since the 2012 Avengers movie, although mercifully, it doesn't feel as silly as that particular costume did. Sam's new suit is a perfect blend between Cap and The Falcon, and Mackie himself loved it too.

Describing the moment that he first put the costume on, designer Michael Crow said that Mackie was extremely excited - so much so that his face visibly lit up.

"I really loved putting the costume on Anthony for the first time. I got a real kick out of it... I could see his face light up; like he was excited. I know he was excited."

Though Sam Wilson's immediate MCU future is currently unclear, we'll still get to see him pick up the shield once more in the recently announced Captain America 4, which will no doubt pick up where The Falcon and the Winter Soldier left off.
