5. The Fantastically Inventive Action Sequences

Though some might not want to consider Incredibles 2 a "real" superhero movie because it's animated, the film's utterly stunning action sequences make an extremely convincing case otherwise.

The set-pieces in this movie can stand toe-to-toe with anything we've ever seen from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while also effortlessly one-upping the first film's dynamic and visually imaginative mayhem.

Brad Bird directs the various vehicular chases, punch-ups and superhero slug-fests with a keen eye, and it's hard to imagine anyone coming away from the film complaining about the lack of action.

These sequences genuinely raise the pulse and are as thrilling as anything the live-action realm can serve up any day of the week.
