2. Who Is Sonny Burch's Mysterious Benefactor?
Walton Goggins wasn't utilised anywhere near as well as he probably should have been as Sonny Burch in Ant-Man and The Wasp, but he still made for an entertaining foe to the titular heroes back in 2018. Along the way, he kept referencing some sort of mysterious benefactor, but that off screen presence never revealed his name or face.
With Scott Lang busy travelling back through time in Avengers: Endgame, we've not had an opportunity to learn more about Burch's employer, and as he was ultimately arrested, surely that shady presence is now going to step out of the shadows in Ant-Man 3?
As it stands, it's a lingering mystery in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which desperately needs to be addressed. On theory suggests it could be Norman Osborn, but with rumours swirling that Paul Rudd has penned a version of the screenplay featuring M.O.D.O.K., it's possible that crazy bad guy will be the one Burch was answering to.
Heck, perhaps Mitchell Carson could even tie into this in some way given his disappearance? After all, M.O.D.O.K. and A.I.M. would no doubt love to get their hands on some Pym Particles...
