Even with a profitable haul of $156 million it placed only twelfth on the list of top earners for the year. Shortly after the films release, pre-production began on the next film in the series. As Timothy Dalton was contracted to make three films as Bond, the third was expected to be The Property Of A Lady with a scheduled release in 1991, however due to legal issues between United Artists, MGM and EON Productions which would last for four long years, the future of the franchise was once again in doubt To catch up on previous installments of the James Bond Retrospective click here: Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majestys Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View To A Kill, The Living DaylightsClassic Line
