Jules Gill's 10 Greatest Films Of All Time

1. Amélie

Amelie Audrey Tattou
Miramax Films

Not a day goes past where I don't think of Amelie in some form or another. It's a completely entrancing film that explores the micro of life rather than the macro. It's not about saving the world or averting any real disaster, but what it does is look at the strings that tie us all together and how even a few tugs here and there can change things.

This is a film with love and passion sewn deep into its core, with fantastic performances, beautiful almost idealised visuals, and the soundtrack to this film feels so purpose fit that it genuinely feels like it's embedded into the film reel itself.

I watch this film to relax, to remind myself that while it's easy to be swept up by the bigger picture of life, that if you don't take time to appreciate or indeed address the minutia of our time on this planet, then you're missing out on so much more. Empathy, curiosity, compassion, and a hefty dose of wonder make this film an utter delight from start to finish.

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
