Jurassic World: 10 Reasons It's The Worst Movie In The Franchise
The park is open, but they really shouldn't have bothered.
Congratulations are in order for Jurassic World - having scored an opening weekend box office haul of $511 million worldwide, it's not only become a record breaker, making the most any movie has made in its first weekend, but it's also already surpassed the all-time global total of predecessor Jurassic Park III ($386 mil). In just three days. There'll only be one thing for it now: more sequels than you could ever need or want, delivered year after year, forever. Chris Pratt is apparently already signed up for two more movies, but you can almost guarantee in the wake of Jurassic World's success that the franchise will go on longer than that - and whether that's a good thing is still up for debate. One prominent argument seems to be that, though The Lost World and Jurassic Park III featured an acrobatic, dino-killing schoolgirl and a talking Velociraptor, respectively, the two films were, at least, more competently made. On closer inspection, they were also a great deal smarter than Jurassic World, which, considering how dumb its forebears can be, is a pretty major insult to the latest Jurassic movie. Here are ten other reasons why Jurassic World is the worst of the franchise to date. (SPOILERS to follow)
