Jurassic World 2 Trailer - 11 Big Things We Learned

Before the trailer came out we'd heard whispers that Jeff Goldblum's role in the movie would be small, and now, we have our confirmation.

Goldblum's Dr. Ian Malcolm can be found in one scene that's set in a courtroom, implying that he won't actually see any proper dinosaur action.

And that's a real disappointment. Why drag Jeff Goldblum back to the franchise just to have him in one scene where he tries to say "life finds a way" in as many different ways as possible?

If you were hoping that the trailer is simply keeping more Goldblum footage under wraps... don't. Fallen Kingdom director J.A. Bayona sat down with The Independent to talk through the trailer, where he described the actor's role as a "cameo".

"He’s more like a cameo - he doesn’t have a major role in the action but it’s definitely a very meaningful one in terms of the story."

While it will be great to see Goldblum back in his most famous role, something about his performance here feels... wrong. Malcolm was never super-serious like he is in this trailer; he made light of dangerous situations, bringing relatable humour to every scene he was in.

But based on this footage, it doesn't look like that's the case here.
