Logan Reviews: 11 Early Critical Reactions
5. Not Enough Richard E. Grant
"Richard E. Grant, always a welcome presence, is primarily wasted as the film’s other villain." - Den of Geek
"Grant unfortunately doesn’t have a ton to do aside from dropping some exposition which ties a few disparate plot points together in the final act." - IGN
The praise wasn't relentless without concession, though, and one of the most commonly called-out criticisms is the disappointingly scant role afforded to the legendary Richard E. Grant as villainous scientist Xander Rice.
Considering his seemingly pivotal role in X-23's creation, many critics were left underwhelmed at the rather piecemeal nature of his part, even if a solid amount of praise was still leveled at the film's central villain, Donald Pierce (played by the brilliant Boyd Holbrook).
