M. Night Shyamalan's Glass: Everything We Know So Far

3. We Have Some Details About The Plot

Though largely thin on the ground, there are details about Glass' plot floating around that give us an idea of its basic premise and scale.

The film's official plot synopsis was released earlier this year, which reads:

From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn, as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast. Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

The key point here is that Elijah "holds secrets critical to both men", which seems to indicate he's been planning a run-in between David and Kevin for quite some time, or, at the very least, that he's been aware of Kevin for quite some time.

Additionally, Shyamalan mentioned on Twitter that the film will be "small" and "intricate", with a "big idea at its center". The fact that Glass is "small" is very good news, especially since the director has stumbled with big, expansive movies before - just see After Earth or The Last Airbender as examples.

And, lastly, producer Jason Blum has stated (via Collider) that the film will have a "more traditional budget", an increase from the $5 million Shyamalan had on Split.

"Still by Hollywood standards a very low budget, but it is not $5 million", he said. It seems like Shyamalan is being given a lot more resources to play with this time around, but the budget won't be so high that it will compromise the street-level, grimy feel that Splunbreakable is known for.
