4. What Does The World Think?
From what we've seen, heard, and read, Man of Steel will be viewed in a present day setting with Superman being our
"first contact" with alien life. With the picture above there's no denying that the U.S. Military won't necessarily welcome Superman with open arms but more like open handcuffs. It is very important to get the reaction from "average Joe's" to help ground the film in a reality that resembles our own. Since Man of Steel appears to be set in a present day time frame there are plenty of references that could make an appearance of a super powered alien feel as real as possible. Could you imagine what would happen to social media websites if someone like Superman showed up one day? What about the stock market? What would governments around the world do or think? What would average citizens do? These scenarios addressed by the filmmakers will make Man of Steel feel that much more like it's happening right before our eyes and Zack Snyder is a documentary filmmaker that happened to be in the right place at the right time. I can't wait to see how "we" react.
