Appeared in: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Season 5

One of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s many great traits is that it always manages to pull off a great payoff, and the last half of the show's recently-concluded fifth season was a testament to that. Ever since Franklin Hall fell into Gravitonium all the way back in the first season, fans have wondered if the comic book villain Graviton would ever surface on the show, with the dangling threads surrounding the Gravitonium left hanging year in and year out.

Fortunately, patience paid off, and Gravitonium returned in a major way in season five, and after a series of fakeouts involving characters like Creel and Ruby potentially becoming Graviton, it ended up being Glenn Talbot who absorbed the Gravitonium, an act that warped his mind.

Believing himself to be the savior of humanity and the strongest being in the universe, he adopted the mantle of Graviton, and ultimately set his sights on Chicago, under which rested a massive deposit of Gravitonium for him to absorb, only to be stopped by Daisy and sent hurtling into the cold recesses of space.

Talbot had been a staple of the series since season one, turning from antagonist to ally, and after being shot in the head by LMD Daisy, seemingly abandoned by Coulson and the team, and brainwashed by General Hale, it's easy to see how and why the Gravitonium was able to take hold and manipulate his trust issues to give him a savior complex, resulting in one of the series' most tragic villains, one who deserved to get help but was too far gone to ever accept it.
