Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Biggest Retcons Made By Marvel Studios

6. The Rainbow Bridge Is Rebuilt

At the end of Thor, the God of Thunder made a huge sacrifice when he destroyed the Rainbow Bridge and cut himself off from Earth. That meant the Odinson couldn't return to see Jane Foster, but Marvel Studios really didn't think this one through...especially with The Avengers coming out the next year.

It was an act of selfless heroism, and The Avengers tried to explain away how Thor returned to Midgard with a throwaway explanation about Odin using dark magic to send him there after Loki. The Asgardians would later use the Tesseract to return home, but by the time Thor: The Dark World rolled around, the Bifrost was repaired with zero explanation.

The Rainbow Bridge being repaired and Thor's sacrifice being forgotten is the retcon here, though, and it's just a shame Marvel Studios never felt the need to explain its return.

Honestly, this just felt lazy, and it's even lazier to have overlooked it. Now, with Asgard destroyed, the God of Thunder conveniently can just use his hammer to travel between realms!
