Marvel Cinematic Universe: 5 Reasons The Savage Land Should Be Introduced

3. Great And Interesting Characters

There are some really cool characters residing in the Savage Land in the comic books and some of them would come across wonderfully on the big screen. The one that immediately stands out when you think of the Savage Land is Ka-Zar (pictured). Ka-Zar is Kevin Reginald AKA Lord Plunder - a man born in Castle Plunder, Kentish Town in London, England. He is the eldest son of Lord Robert Plunder, the English nobleman who discovered the Savage Land in the first place. After his mother had died and his father was killed by the barbaric Man-Ape natives of the Savage Land, Plunder was found and raised by the sabertooth tiger Zabu, who possesses near-human intelligence thanks to a mutation caused by radioactive mists. "Ka-Zar" means "Son of the Tiger" in the language of the Man-Apes and he is almost constantly partnered with Zabu. He became an expert hunter, trapper and fisherman, living off the wild land. A Ka-Zar movie itself has long been touted and, given the past success of stories of wild barbarian men, such as Tarzan and Conan the Barbarian, there's really no reason why Ka-Zar couldn't be a live action success. Other great named characters from the Savage Land include Shanna the She-Devil, the aformentioned Zabu, Sauron, Garokk, Devil Dinosaur, Moon-Boy and the Savage Land Mutates - a vast array of varied characters who all possess different skills and powers and who would bring a real sense of versatility to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, if they were all included.
