Marvel Cinematic Universe: Definitive Guide To Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And Foreshadowing
The Incredible Hulk
16. Bill Bixby Cameo (Via The Courtship Of Eddie's Father)
All previous actors (bar Eric Bana) who've played Bruce Banner or the Green Goliath appear in The Incredible Hulk. For Bill Bixby, who played David Banner in the live-action TV series, it's through Bruce watching The Courtship Of Eddie's Father, a sixties sitcom that stands as one of the actors other big roles. Bixby died in 1993 of prostate cancer, so this serves as a nice, tasteful way to still include him.
15. Stan Lee Cameo
Stan Lee's cameo sees him again given more to do, actually worked into the plot of the movie. Here he's the unlucky old man with a taste for Brazilian soft drinks who ends up ingesting some of Bruce's blood, tipping the military off to Banner's location.
14. Steve Rogers' Portrait In Ross Office
He may have disappeared over sixty years ago, but there's clearly still a lot of respect for Steve Rogers in the US military. Just to the left of the doors to General Ross' office is a portrait of Captain America himself. Chris Evans was yet to be cast when the film was made, hence why it's in the background (and, when paused, clearly a drawing).
13. The Hulk Is A Failed Super Soldier
If you thought a picture of Steve Rogers was cool, wait until you hear this. In the aftermath of Bruce's escape in Rio, Ross discusses Bio-Tech Force Enhancement, in layman's terms Super Soldiers, with Emil Blonsky; unbeknownst to Banner, his ill-fated radiation experiments were actually part of the General's attempts to replicate the program. So Hulk is actually a failed attempt to mimic Captain America. How's about that for a connection?
