Marvel's Infinity Saga: Every MCU Movie Ranked Worst To Best

18. Thor (2011)

It's testament to the overall quality of the MCU that something as brave, creative and entertaining as Thor can only rank at this point in the list. And though it might seem to rank pretty low, Thor is genuinely a very good movie. Thanks to director Kenneth Branagh's past work in theatre and the perfect casting of both Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth, it's a far bigger success than it had any right to be.

Hiddleston's Loki stands out a mile, inevitably (it's still funny to think he auditioned to play Thor and came close) and Branagh's commitment to the theatrical adds a sort of grandeur and opulence that Asgard screamed for. The same was also injected into the performances too, which made the other best thing about it - the story (which owes a lot to Crocodile Dundee) - even more entertaining.

There's a little too much exposition at times, which compromises the pace, but it's by no means fatal.
