MCU: 10 Big Implications Of Adding The Fantastic Four

9. No X-Men Crossover (Yet)

In the same way rumours of a sequel to the awful 2015 Fantastic Four movie have persisted, the same thing is happening with regards to a crossover between the characters from that movie and the characters from Fox's X-Men franchise. With no less than three X-Men movies set to be released in 2016 (Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse and Gambit), there's the truly terrifying possibility that a cameo from a Fantastic Four character or a Baxter Building Easter egg could canonise Marvel's first family into the X-Men franchise. The rumoured Fantastic Four sequel is touted for a 2017 release (whether that release date would actually remain even IF Marvel Studios didn't acquire the group is debatable, but that's another story) and, in order to heighten the currently non-existent interest in it, Fox might link it to their far more popular franchise before that happens. However, if Marvel Studios have indeed acquired or are on the verge of acquiring the heroic quartet, that certainly wouldn't happen (at least not until the X-Men inevitably follow Marvel's first family to the Marvel Cinematic Universe). For goodness sake Marvel, take them off Fox's hands!
