The main bulk of Marvel’s SDCC announcements in 2022 came as part of the franchise’s Phase Five, however there was also just a peak of what is to come beyond Thunderbolts in July 2024. So far, the only confirmed Phase Six movies are Fantastic Four, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret wars.

This was huge news, but outside of the names of the movies and the release dates, there is absolutely nothing known about them. This is to be expected, but with these being arguably the three most anticipated movies on the slate, fans want to know more. They would settle for the time being for who will be directing.

Spider-Man’s Jon Watts was initially attached to direct Fantastic Four following the huge success of the Webhead’s MCU trilogy, however he has since dropped out. So many names have been thrown around, even including Steven Spielberg, but no confirmation as of yet.

The same can be said for Avengers 6. Though Destin Daniel Cretton has since been confirmed for The Kang Dynasty, there has been radio silence when it comes to Secret Wars. For obvious reasons, after Infinity War and Endgame most fans’ minds have gone straight to Anthony and Joe Russo.

Though Kevin Feige has confirmed that they aren’t attached to direct, he also confirmed that the movie doesn't currently have any director, so technically they can't yet be ruled out.
