MCU: 12 Worst Casting Decisions In Marvel Movies

4. Kat Dennings – Darcy Lewis

Thor Heimdall Idris Elba
Marvel Studios

It could be her annoying voice, or perhaps it’s her inability to deliver a line in any style but deadpan. Maybe it’s because it’s hard to watch Kat Dennings without thinking about that godawful (but thankfully now cancelled) sitcom 2 Broke Girls.

Whatever the reason, Dennings’ Darcy Lewis is a non-event in the MCU. Considering she not even a pre-existing Marvel character it's not even clear why she was created and inserted into the first two Thor movies. What exactly is a political science student doing interning with astrophysicist Jane Foster?

With her dialogue limited to unfunny one-liners and observations, Dennings was annoying enough in Thor but by The Dark World her useless character was practically insufferable. Fortunately, like Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, Darcy won’t be returning for Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok.
