MCU: 14 Things You Learn Rewatching Guardians Of The Galaxy
11. The Humour Holds Up

Marvel movies have become known for their comedy and fun nature, in a stark contrast to the best superhero movies around when the MCU was being established.
However, as years progress humour can become dated, especially when you've seen a movie a number of times, but Guardians remains every bit as hilarious as it was when first released in the summer of 2014.
The jokes are plentiful but almost always rooted in character, with Drax and Rocket getting so many of the best lines and sight gags. Guardians 2 didn't quite match it in this regard, especially as so many of the best jokes were just in the trailer, but Guardians 1 retains the ability to make you laugh throughout.
Moreover, though, is that it nicely blends that with its own inherent weirdness and a real dose of pathos, balancing each element perfectly. In that regard you could almost say this is the movie Thor: Ragnarok should've been, which nailed its humour and strangeness but was found lacking in the emotional stakes.
