MCU: 20 Things You Somehow Missed In The Avengers

6. Not The First Time Loki Stabbed Thor

Between first appearing on Midgard and being taken back bound and in chains, Loki had a one-on-one interaction with every single Avenger. More than most, unsurprisingly, was his brother. Thor spent much of the movie trying to convince Loki to give up his ridiculous quest to rule Earth, which eventually boiled down to a fistfight between them atop Stark Tower.

You would have thought that, particularly with Mjolnir in hand, Thor would have won relatively easily, but this wasn’t the case. Loki is sneaky, and of course mischievous. He can handle himself in a fight, and managed to get what appeared to be, at first, a dangerous shot on Thor.

As they tussled, he managed to stab his brother in the gut to an intake of breath from the entire audience. The God of Thunder soon pulled the blade out and carried on, however. More context was given to this in Thor: Ragnarok.

Thor told Bruce and Valkyrie the now iconic story of Loki pretending to be a snake, only to change back, scare him, and stab him. Based on this, it seems that being stabbed by his brother wasn’t particularly a rare occurrence, and when it happened again in New York this was little more than an annoyance to the Asgardian prince.
