MCU: Every Phase Three Post Credit Scene Ranked Worst To Best

One of the biggest show-stealers from Captain Marvel wasn't a de-aged Nick Fury, the introduction of the Skrulls, or even Carol Danvers herself. It was Goose the cat, later to be revealed as Goose the flerkin. The seemingly cute little fuzzball can shoot tentacles from its mouth, it permanently damaged Nick Fury's eye, and was able to swallow the Tesseract whole.

The movie's second post credit sting shows Carol's sidekick walking across Nick Fury's desk long enough to cough up the infinity stone like a fur ball. While this does explain how the Tesseract made it back to Earth from Mar-Vell's outer space lab, the main purpose of this scene was for comedic effect. There are plenty of other ways the space stone could have returned to earth, but to do so in Goose's stomach was done purely for the audience to have a laugh.
