7. Hawkeye

It's an undeniable fact that Hawkeye AKA Clint Barton has been terribly underutilised and underdeveloped in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. Jeremy Renner himself has expressed discontent about his extremely limited role as the character and, although he is expected to get more screen time in Avengers: Age of Ultron, this still won't equate to the origin movies and character exploration and development that the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and even Hulk have received in the franchise to date. What makes the character's mistreatment so odd is that his comic is currently one of the most popular and, arguably, the absolute best thing that Marvel has been publishing for the last couple of years. Getting the opportunity to learn more about the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the character in a solo movie would definitely have been welcomed by the fans.
