MCU Phase 4: Predicting Every Unannounced Movie

4. Ant-Man 3

The Ant-Man franchise is developing something of a habit of releasing in awkward places. The first arrived not long after Age of Ultron, and the next - Ant-Man and the Wasp - is sandwiched in between Infinity War and the still-not-titled Avengers 4.

That said, Marvel love their trilogies, and if Ant-Man and the Wasp is even half as fun as the original 2015 film, then it's difficult to see Marvel passing on a third follow-up. Peyton Reed will likely return as the film's director, and with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly two of Marvel's strongest leads yet, there's no way a third film doesn't happen.

With Ant-Man and the Wasp releasing later this year, any third entry in the franchise would have to arrive near the end of Phase Four's schedule, ruling it out of that 2020 slot and again, placing it in between the end of one phase and the beginning of another.

It's rotten luck, but it might actually afford Marvel's bite-sized series more room to manoeuvre. The first film certainly managed to work as a quirky endnote to Phase Two, and while fans may expect more of Ant-Man et al., the least they can be sure of is that another film is on the way.
