MCU Phase 4: Which Characters Will Return After Avengers: Endgame?

14. Spider-Man

Status: Alive

Spidey sat out most of the movie but came good for some great moments in the climactic extended battle scene, including getting to play with his Instant Kill mode.

Crucially, he's also one of the pillars of the future of the MCU and his forthcoming sequel - with all of its timeline questions - will close out Phase 3 rather than Endgame.

Next Up: Spider-Man: Far From Home

We already know the story of Far From Home, as Peter Parker heads to Europe, but with the confirmation that it will close Phase 3, there may be more exploration of the fallout of Endgame. They certainly have to answer some more questions about the jump to 2023.

13. Ant-Man & The Wasp

Status: Alive

Ant-Man was one of the absolute stand-outs of Endgame and while he didn't go inside anyone's anus - at least not on camera - he was a key player in undoing the Snap (though he owes a LOT to a bloody rat, of course). He also didn't die, which is rather wonderful, as it means we can see more of him.

As for The Wasp, she was a late-in-the-day extended cameo, but she at least came back to team up with Scott, so their future looks bright at least.

Next Up: Ant-Man 3 (Possibly)

Quite what their story would be in a possible threequel remains to be seen, but Marvel likes to do things in threes and there's so much goodwill for Paul Rudd's MCU work that you have to hope they'll bring him and Evangeline Lily back.

And even if it's not in their own movie, both in a new Avengers movie makes sense (or Wasp in an all-female one and Scott in another?).
