7. Captain Marvel 2

Status: Confirmed

It would have been silly to think we wouldn't get a follow-up to Captain Marvel, even if her first solo movie hadn't been as well-received as it was. That's just how Marvel's movie strategy works and Carol Danvers has a heavy-lifting role in the second era of the Avengers (whenever they actually come back as a unit).

Her story back in the 1990s also isn't finished, even if the next chapter is likely to happen mostly off Earth. There are just too many questions we need answers to. For instance, we need to know what twists Ronin into the zealot he was when we first met him in Guardians Of The Galaxy, we need to know about the quest to unite the Skrull, we need to know how the Kree/Skrull war ends and we need to know how it is that Talos and Soren come to be working with Nick Fury back on Earth in the 2020s.

Kevin Feige confirmed that Captain Marvel 2 is one of the projects he "didn't have time to talk about" at Comic Con, so it's clearly imminently following Phase 4.
