MCU: Predicting Every Marvel Movie From 2020 - 2022
7. November 6, 2020 - Doctor Strange 2
Despite the first movie being released in 2016, a sequel still hasn't been officially confirmed for Doctor Strange.
It's surely going to happen though: Benedict Cumberbatch is a massive star and, after a cameo in Thor: Ragnarok, is now set to have a major part to play in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. As one of the smartest, most powerful, and charismatic characters in the MCU, Stephen Strange is well-placed to assume the Tony Stark role in the future.
A sequel was also very definitively set up by the first movie, with Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mordo ready to become the villain. After Avengers 4 in 2019, Strange will probably be a much bigger deal in the MCU, and that means it'll be better placed to capitalise.
The November 2020 slot lines up nicely with when the first arrived, and any later is really going too long between films, as Marvel haven't had a gap of more than three years between sequels thus far - even four is pushing it a bit, but 2019 is already full.
