MCU Spider-Man 4: 8 Things We Need To See
2. Could Ned Become The Hobgoblin?
While Ned Leeds gives some much-needed comedy relief to the MCU iteration of Spider-Man, in the comics his character takes a much darker turn, and we really do mean much darker.
While working as a reporter for The Daily Bugle, Ned takes on the mantle of the Hobgoblin after being brainwashed by the original villain and used as a scapegoat for his crimes.
Back to the MCU and with this version of Ned having forgotten Peter Parker’s identity due to Doctor Strange’s spell, and Spider-Man being left without his closest friend and ally, this plot twist could lead towards an emotional showdown between the former pals.
Prior to forgetting Peter Parker’s existence, No Way Home saw Ned learn that Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker had been attacked by his best friend (Harry Osborn as New Goblin), so could history repeat itself across the multiverse?
Another option for Ned’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man movies is to become a student of sorcery and follow in the footsteps of Doctor Strange after Ned showed some mastery of the mystic arts while using the Sorcerer Supreme’s Sling Ring to open magic portals.
