MCU X-Men: 10 Comic Book Storylines Marvel Must Adapt
4. Messiah Complex
The perfect follow up to House Of M and the Decimation of mutant-kind in the MCU would be Messiah Complex.
Taking the X-Men away from the wider context of the MCU and its existing heroes, and with the mutant world reeling from Scarlett Witch's actions, Messiah Complex would be a perfect movie for the X-Men to stand alone, and the perfect storyline in which they could do so.
Messiah Complex involves the first birth of a mutant since House Of M, and the X-Men, Wolverine's X-Force, Cable, and a whole host of enemies compete to determine the child's fate.
With the mutant messiah's introduction, this would be a perfect way to differentiate Marvel Studios' X-Men from Fox's and would introduce one of the most pivotal mutants of recent years with the messiah herself, Hope Summers.
It would also offer a great chance to show just how many enemies the X-Men have, with the Reavers, Pacifiers, Marauders, and the Acolytes all attempting to take the child for their own means, as well as the double crossing of some heroic mutants who believe the child has a special role to play in the fate of al mutants.
