MCU X-Men: 10 Comic Book Storylines Marvel Must Adapt
5. House Of M
House Of M would be higher up on this list if it weren't pivotal to understanding the next four entries, such is the magnitude of this storyline.
Now, of course, Marvel Studios would have to adapt the plot a large amount to make it fit in to the existing context of the MCU, but the core story beats would make for a fantastic introduction of the mutant heroes, and could even be an opportunity to revive Quicksilver and make him a pivotal player in later X-Men films.
The storyline revolves around a Scarlett Witch driven mad, who alters reality for all of Earth's powered beings. Only Wolverine has any memory of his true past, and he begins gathering heroes to launch an assault on Magneto and his family, ruling monarchs of the mutant safe haven country, Genosha.
One huge battle and the uttering of the now infamous phrase "No more mutants" later, and the foundation of mutant life was changed forever.
Genosha and Xavier's ability to block people's memory could be the perfect excuse for why mutants haven't yet had an impact on the MCU, but Scarlett Witch's insanity, and the consequences of Thanos' snap, would be justifiable reasons for mutants to emerge.
