Morbius Trailer Review: 5 Ups & 1 Down

Ups...

5. It's Sparing In Its Use Of Plot Details

We're living in a day and age in which major studios think it's a great idea to spoil major plot details for their upcoming films in their trailers - bafflingly thinking that fans will flock to see a two-hour movie they essentially just watched in under two minutes. However, as fans grow more and more dissatisfied with this approach, it appears that the era of trailer-spoiling is thankfully on its way out.

Now, don't get this writer wrong, the Morbius trailer reveals quite a bit of information about the film's plot, but it does so efficiently - only giving us background details on Michael Morbius' condition and ultimately leading up the monstrous reveal in the closing moments. It uses information that was already somewhat available and presents it in a more compelling and mysterious way - ultimately leaving us wanting more. What it doesn't do is spoil major plot twists or reveal how Morbius is perceived following his evolution.

All in all, the teaser does just that: Tease us with the plot instead of telling us it.
