5. Thomas Jane - Rayden

This is another casting choice with origins resting in Anderson's original Mortal Kombat film. There's little point arguing with Christopher Lambert's fun turn as the Thunder God, Lord Rayden, and so we've decided to cast someone who has a strong physical resemblance to the man; Thomas Jane. Still, it's important to remember that Jane would add another distinguished note to the cast; he's proven in roles like The Mist that he can do drama, and in the likes of The Punisher he's also demonstrated tremendous physical prowess. We therefore think he could imbue Rayden with the presence and intensity that is needed to reflect the character's iconic status in the video games. Can you see it? Stick a hat on him, put him in a robe, and he IS Rayden. It also makes sense that if the rest of the cast are largely unknowns, that a name actor be cast as this character, given how important and literally God-like he is in the mythology.
