9. Sigourney Weaver Will Star

There are two things you need to make an Alien movie: an Alien, obviously, and Sigourney Weaver. When Blomkamp's concept art appeared on Instagram, one notable inclusion was that in amongst the images of the Weyland-Yutani headquarters and otherworldly organisms there was a few drawings that included Weaver herself. Clearly indicating that, even when it was still just a few ideas floating around the director's head, he still saw Ripley as an integral part of the story. Even Weaver herself had admitted in interviews that she was still open to revisiting the role at some point, sharing the view most fans hold that Ripley has never quite had the resolution or send off that she really deserves. Thanks in part to conversations the two have had working on Blomkamp's current project Chappie, the director has been able to confirm that Weaver will be reprising the role in the 5th instalment of the series. Not bad for an actress who celebrated her 65th birthday last October.
