New Mutants Movie: 10 X-Men Characters We Want To See
5. Blink
Clarice Fergusson, aka Blink, was blessed with the ability to create portals in space. As well as traveling almost anywhere she wishes, these portals allow Blink to move large objects and other people through space as well. Like fellow teleporter Nightcrawler, Blink also has an unusual physical appearance, complete with pink skin and purple hair. Unlike Nightcrawler, these dont seem to give her any kind of advantage in combat situations. Despite being a fan favourite after her appearances in the Age of Apocalypse and Exiles comic books, Blink remains a vastly underused character, first dying only a month after her introduction and only appearing in a few storylines since. Despite not appearing in New Mutant comics until 2009, Blink is already familiar to fans of the X-men films after her cinematic debut in Days of Future Past. Although she may not be as intimately connected to the books as, say Moonstar, Blink clearly has one of the most visually impressive powers, as well as one of the most practically useful. One of the recurring themes of the New Mutants comics is that these are characters that shouldnt, really, be going on missions. Any adventures they go on are likely to be unapproved by their teachers, so having a teammate who can sneak them out of school grounds could only be a benefit.
With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
