Oscars 2019: Predicting All The Nominees

7. Original Song

The past decade in this category has been dominated by Disney, Pixar, and Bond, but the latter two won't be there this year. Disney will, but more likely for live-action than animation - they have two songs on the shortlist from Mary Poppins Returns, and Black Panther's big credits song All The Stars, along with Ralph Breaks The Internet's 'A Place Called Slaughter Race'.

Diane Warren has been nominated nine times at the Oscars, and it's unlikely the Academy will pass up the chance of taking that into double figures, while Dolly Parton's Girl in the Movies from Dumplin' has been getting a number of nods too. And then, of course, there's A Star Is Born's Shallow, which is going to win this unless something truly shocking happens.

Nominees:

All The Stars - Black Panther

Girl In The Movies - Dumplin'

I'll Fight - RGB

The Place Where Lost Things Go - Mary Poppins Returns

Shallow - A Star Is Born
