Oscars 2022: Final Predictions For Nominations In Every Category
5. Best Original Song
NOMINEES:
"Be Alive" (King Richard)
"Dos Oruguitas" (Encanto)
"Down to Joy" (Belfast)
"Just Look Up" (Don't Look Up)
"No Time to Die" (No Time to Die)
Best Original Song has favoured Bond themes in recent years, so Billie Eilish's title track for No Time to Die is a guaranteed nomination and quite probable win, especially after scooping the Golden Globe recently. But Encanto's "Dos Oruguitas," also a lock for a nom, can't be ignored either.
Songs from Belfast, Don't Look Up, and King Richard have had solid support so far, though we can't entirely ignore the possibility of Diane Warren racking up another nomination for "Somehow You Do" from the little-seen drama Four Good Days.
With 12 Oscar nominations to her name without a win, Warren evidently has a lot of friends in the industry, though apparently not quite enough to give her the gong outright.
Her song hasn't been picking up much support on the awards circuit, but she's been nominated four out of the last five years.
