2. It Was A Well-Paced Show

Almost every year without fail, Oscar fans complain about the show's obscenely bloated runtime, where on especially egregious occasions it can get dangerously close to four hours in length.

This year's show was one of the pacier ones in recent memory, though, wrapping up in "just" 3 hours and 23 minutes - and that's including a six-minute delay to the expected start time.

Even with the first award not being given out for an entire half-hour, the show's producers cut down on the typically time-hogging fluff segments, ensuring that most nominees were able to give meaningful speeches without being rushed.

It was also a smart call to have the show begin an hour earlier than usual - an apparent attempt to improve the Oscars' dwindling ratings, and one which international audiences watching late into the night most certainly appreciated.
