Pixar: Ranking Their Films From Best To Worst

7. Toy Story 2

Toy Story 2 With the exception of The Godfather Part II, The Empire Strikes Back and a couple of others, sequels are never as good as the original, but Toy Story 2 isn't far off. Originally intended to go straight-to-DVD, Toy Story 2 has no right to be anywhere near as good as it is. The production had to be rushed for release, John Lasseter and his team re-wrote the story in a single weekend and the whole film had to be completed in a minuscule nine months, and the result was the second part in arguably the greatest trilogy ever made. Toy Story 2 is inspired work, born out of Pixar boss John Lasseter seeing a young boy with a Woody doll at an airport, and that kind of love and affection is what makes the Toy Story series so special. If Toy Story didn't, then Toy Story 2 would definitely remind you why you loved your toys so much when you were a kid, and the earnest magic of the picture can break down even the hardest and coldest of cynics. The addition of a central female character in Jessie is very much welcomed and she adds more greatness to the film, as it is endless innovative and in some people's eyes, better than the first one.
