Predicting 20 Highest Grossing Movies Of 2018

Though a movie destroying the box office doesn't mean it's actually any good, it's worth remembering that the overwhelming majority of the 20 highest-grossing movies in any single year are largely embraced by not just audiences but critics also.

While the last few years have struggled to keep up with 2015's historic box office showing - where an unprecedented three movies grossed more than $1.5 billion - 2018 sure looks set to give it a run for its money, with a glut of highly anticipated sequels due for release, and of course, what is quite literally the biggest superhero movie in history on the horizon.

Not everything will meet expectations, sure - the likes of Venom, Alita: Battle Angel and Ocean's 8 are middling prospects at best - but these 20 movies will generate solid returns on investment in the very least, and if they perform well enough, they just might break some records.

Whatever happens, Disney is going to make a metric crapton of cash, and though cinema attendance continues to decline with the array of at-home streaming options, the cinema experience most certainly isn't dying as some fearmongers claim...
