Pixar movies may not carry the guaranteed seal of quality they did back in the early 00s, but they do still generate big bucks at the box-office, and Toy Story 4 should be no exception.

Two of the studio's last four movies have crossed the $1bn barrier, with Incredibles 2 becoming its biggest to date, so the studio is in rude health in that regard, and Toy Story is its biggest and most beloved franchise. There are huge question marks over the necessity of the film, but then there were over Toy Story 3 too, and that made over $1bn.

The first teaser wasn't great, but that's not going to put off the kids, and the film still holds a cross-generational appeal that will be crucial to securing a huge gross. It has a solid three-week run without any real competition too, so barring the film being an absolute disaster, there's nothing to get in its way.
