Predicting How 2020's Biggest Movies Will End

4. Godzilla & Kong Battle Mechagodzilla - Godzilla Vs. Kong

It was recently confirmed that Godzilla vs. Kong will be delayed by a stonking eight months, amid speculation that Warner Bros. is looking to re-tool the film with extensive reshoots following the underwhelming box office performance of Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

It remains to be seen if this will affect the climax of the film, though at present, rumours indicate that the titular Titans will predictably end up joining forces to battle a bigger monster.

And that monster will probably be none other than Mechagodzilla, at least if a tease in King of the Monsters' credits can be believed.

A newspaper clipping briefly seen during the stylised credits mentions that Monarch has been attempting to create a "mechanised giant" on Skull Island, and what else could this possibly be referring to?

That's no guarantee the newspaper clipping is anything more than a cute Easter egg, of course, but given how crowd-pleasing the appearance of Mechagodzilla would be, it's a highly likely next step.
