4. Something Based On Marvel's Comics (Doctor Aphra)

If you're a Star Wars fan right now, you're really missing out if you're not checking in on Marvel's comics.

The main Star Wars title, Darth Vader and Doctor Aphra in particular are all fantastic, while the latter in particular should be earmarked for a cinematic adaptation down the line. Her own spin-off comic in particular went down as one of the best reads of 2017, and with there being more to explore with the character, an Indiana Jones-style Aphra film would make a whole lot of sense.

In the comics, Aphra is recruited by Darth Vader to search out ancient artefacts of key importance. That alone is a premise worth adapting to the big screen, and though the comics do form official Star Wars canon, making a potential Aphra movie a less than conventional adaptation, there are plenty of stories left to tell with the character that haven't been addressed.
