3. Leia: A Star Wars Story

Save for Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, there isn't a Star Wars character more iconic than Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia.

Fisher's passing devastated everyone back in 2016, and though her character won't be appearing in the untitled Episode IX, there's still room for Leia to appear elsewhere - either in an Original Trilogy setting, or during the years in between Episodes VI and VII.

It's the original setting that presents the better opportunity though, with Star Wars Rebels having already depicted a version of the character during the Rebellion's burgeoning moments. Granted, there's little time between that series' end and the beginning of A New Hope, but there's still plenty to examine beforehand - particularly in Leia's rise to prominence on Alderaan.

Bring back Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa, and you have all the makings of a compelling political thriller.
